Travel bucket list idea:
Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland
Irish whiskey – one of the world’s most popular – is renowned for its smoothness, distinct flavor profile, and centuries-old heritage.
Unlike its Scottish counterpart, Irish whiskey is typically made from a blend of malted and unmalted barley, offering a lighter and more approachable character. The use of pot stills, combined with the unique aging methods, imparts delightful flavours of vanilla, honey, and toasted oak. Its triple distillation process creates the exceptional smoothness. The moderate climate of Ireland allows for slower maturation, resulting in a well-rounded and balanced whiskey.
This Dublin museum offer expert-led guided tours to discover the origins and evolution of Irish Whiskey, how it has developed through the ages, the secrets of how to make it, and the leading Irish Whiskey brands. Tours end, of course, with a tasting.
A ‘Classic tour’ takes about an hour, or you can try their ‘Whiskey Blending Experience’ and create a small bottle of your own special blend (1.5 hours). Or opt for a whiskey tour and brunch (1.5 hours).
The museum is open all year round, seven days a week. Tours and tastings run daily.
